What is Microsoft Viva?

Microsoft Viva is an employee experience platform that brings together communications, knowledge, learning, resources, and insights. Powered by Microsoft 365 and experienced primarily through Microsoft Teams, Viva fosters a culture where people and teams are empowered to be their best from anywhere.

Viva includes 4 modules today:

  • Connections: A curated, company-branded experience that brings together relevant news, conversations, and resources in the apps and devices you use every day.

  • Insights: Improve productivity and wellbeing with data-driven, privacy-protected insights and recommendations.

  • Learning: Empower employees to discover, share, recommend, and learn from content libraries across your organization with this center for learning in Microsoft 365.

  • Topics: Automatically organizes content and expertise across your organization using AI, making it easy for people to find information and put knowledge to work.

Should I be concerned as a customer?

Not at all. You should be excited! We will continue to be your partner with the same great team, experience, and product as we grow. We’ll just be able to evolve more rapidly to address the needs of the modern workforce, which is Microsoft Viva’s core focus as well.

Over time, there will be tighter integrations and more features that work hand-in-hand with Microsoft Viva’s hybrid and remote enablement toolset, but our focus will continue to be on OKRs and execution, and how your team keeps every employee aligned, focused, and productive.

Will you be able to keep moving fast and innovating based on customer needs?

Yes. We are excited to play a part in helping employees understand how their work relates to overall company goals and drive business outcomes in the daily workflow. We will continue to invest in our platform and the capabilities we offer to support all of our customers.

What’s the impact on me as an OKR champion?

We do not anticipate this acquisition having an immediate impact on how a user or OKR champion interacts with or OKRs. Over time, we will be accelerating our roadmap in some areas and building newer integrations to make existing customer experiences better, in a similar way to how we have approached the last 2+ years.

What is going to change in the product?

Immediately, nothing. In the near term, you can expect to see a focus on making easier to use, understand, and help drive your business forward. It has always been our belief that is best used when it is integrated with where people work. You can expect us to double down here and build richer connections to support our users in the flow of work.

Will you be sunsetting your non-Microsoft integrations and SSO features?

No. We will keep the integrations and SSO capabilities you know, love, and have come to rely on.

Is anything on the roadmap being reprioritized now?

We constantly are evaluating the roadmap priorities based on customer inputs and strategic product vision. Right away, we are not changing our roadmap fundamentally. Stay tuned for more.

If I’m not a Microsoft Teams or Viva customer, can I continue as an customer?

Yes! You can expect to continue your subscription with the same great product and same great service you’re used to.
